The Designery: Origins...

About the Designery

Digital Dragon Designery was created in response to the need for high-quality design and layout for self-publishing authors who couldn't afford the high-priced, template-based work offered through other providers. While a lot of "discount" creative services lack a more personalised approach to client relations, the Designery has always taken pride in providing a comfortable service experience, especially for those who are new to the process.

The Designery works its magic on Macs equipped with a full array of Adobe software, plus supporting apps to allow full flexibility in producing output for print and the web. Ongoing education and keeping up to date with the latest technical information is also important to the Designery.

Clients are the lifeblood of the Designery, and it welcomes new relationships with the goal of helping others realize their dreams in print for the first time.

About the Designer: Michelle Landry

Having been an avid artist from a very young age, it is with no great surprise that I find myself years later pursuing a career as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. Art and design are central to me, and bring great meaning and purpose to my life.

By far, my favourite art subject has been fantasy and sci-fi illustration. I also enjoy animal and nature subjects, and make use of anatomical study to achieve more realism in my fantastical creations. I am happiest when deeply engaged in artistic creation, and spend considerable time observing the world around me for new ideas and techniques.

I have several years of graphic design and prepress experience, including a number of years spent in a fast-paced publishing house. It was a desire to spend more time working directly with clients from a comfortable and inspiring work environment that prompted me to start my own freelance design business full-time.
